SAMPARSONS

Sam was born April 7, 1949. He was raised primarily on a cattle farm outside of Waco, Texas. Sam started his professional music career at the early age of 14, performing all over the country in 49 of the 50 states. He has been a recording artist with ABC Records, United Artists, and Universal Pictures. He is a versatile musical artist, comfortable in a variety of musical styles. Sam is a composer, arranger, recording artist, live stage performer; and currently sings and speaks to thousands of people each year in a number of interesting venues.

Sam is very happily married to his wife and ministry partner, Colleen. They have five children: Alyssa, Travis, Nick, Tasha, and Jerry, and two grandchildren, Joshua and Grace. The entire family is actively involved in their home church fellowship, Mission Hills Community Church in Rancho Santa Margarita, California.

Sam has been in Christian ministry since 1985. His first ministry was as a Worship Leader/ Music Director, as the associate Director of Music for Mission Viejo Christian Church later as the music Director for the singles ministry at the Crystal Cathedral in Garden Grove California. After much study, Sam became a licensed Pastor in 1992. That same year, Sam and Colleen stepped out together, in faith, to co-direct Good News Ministry, a non- profit Christian ministry primarily ministering in hospitals, nursing homes, retirement homes, and assisted living facilities. Their ministry also conducts seminars on how to minister to others in need. Sam and Colleen speak in churches, retreats, and conferences throughout the U.S.A. and recently their ministry materials have been taken abroad.

Sam visits with seniors each day, singing and spreading his contagious joy. He continues to teach Bible studies, occasionally provides pulpit supply for other Pastors and Worship leaders. Sam is a strong Men’s Retreat Speaker and worship leader. He and Colleen also speak for Couple’s Retreats on the joy of marriage as a ministry. Sam recently completed a musical CD of his own original music, and is currently working on his first book. Sam and Colleen’s monthly ‘Good Newsletter’ goes out to hundreds of people encouraging them in their walk with God and sharing the great things God has done.
